Near & Dear ♥

Last night I got to go visit some friends of mine that I hold very dear to my heart, and I had a blast! Who, you ask? My riding instructor (when I was riding and competing) Vanessa, her daughter Kaitlyn, and two good friends that I made during my riding career, Alyssa and Montgomery. I hadn't seen Vanessa, and Kaitlyn in over 3 years, and Alyssa had moved back to Colorado so it had been even longer since I had seen her. Montgomery and I have gotten together every now and then when she would come home from school, but even so, it was still great to see her again.

Montgomery and I drove out to Vanessa's in Liberty Hill around 6, and we didn't end up leaving until after 10. The time flew by, and I can almost guarantee we all could have stayed up all night reminiscing. We did all get dinner together, but even then, we talked the entire time. I don't think there was a moment of silence the whole time, and I wouldn't have it any other way. These are the kind of friends you have in your life that no amount of distance or time away from each other makes things any different. The best kinds of friends.

Not only did I get to visit with great friends, but I got to be around my lifelong passion again... horses! I can't express just how much I miss riding and having my horses. I am absolutely positive that I will own the gentle giants again in the future. I hope Averi loves them just as much as I do. I didn't get to ride this time, but  am planning to do so when I go back next week to visit.
