My goodness! It has been entirely too long since I have blogged. So much as been going on in my little world, and while I am so entirely grateful, a new routine takes its toll on anyone until you get adjusted. I think I am nearing that adjustment stage, it has just been one heck of a time. I was so used to staying up late and waking up late, being a stay at home momma. Now it is bed by 8:30 for Averi (most of the time), and bed for Momma by 10pm. I wake up at 7am, sometimes earlier if I am going in at 8. I get ready and then get Miss Priss up, change her, and load her into the car. It doesn't sound like a whole lot but believe me, it is. Now that I am working 8, sometimes 9 hours a day, I get home and need to tend to Averi, chores, etc, etc. Hence why I haven't been blogging much. Fear not though, I think I have come up with a way to stay more consistent. I plan to start blogging on my lunch breaks at work. Brilliant, right?! What better time! I may still post here and there in the evenings (probably more on the weekends), but am trying to get my workouts done in the evenings on the weekdays so we'll see!
I can't tell you enough, how grateful and blessed I have been with this job. It is really the first time I feel like I honestly LOVE what I am doing! Not only that, but I feel appreciated for the work I do. And, ontop of those things, the pay and benefits are absolutely excellent. I thank God (and David) for allowing me to stay home with Averi for just shy of a year, and I thank God again for being very clear that it was time to get back to work, by dropping this opportunity in my lap. I'm not so good about picking up on the subtle hints, lol.
Hmm, what else? We are so close to purchasing our first home, and it will definitely be happening this year, if not in the next couple of months. It is such a wonderful feeling. While I am thankful to have been able to stay where we are to save money and be at home with Averi, a girl can only take so much, especially having a little one. The walls are so thin, you hear everything from the parties and intoxicated voices outside, to the inconsiderate drivers who cruise the parking lot, bumping there bass at midnight. It's for some people, but not for us. And there is nothing wrong with that. That being said, we are looking for houses in the North Austin and Cedar Park/Leander area, and also in the Round Rock area (being more towards 1431 and parmer). My sister and brother in law just moved into Mayfield Ranch and it is absolutely beautiful! So needless to say, I've been looking there as well. David really likes Sendero Springs, which is right by Mayfield Ranch so that is an option for us also. Needless to say, it is so much fun scoping out homes, and sitting down at night to search together. Some of the things we have narrowed down are that we want a one story home, two story is not an option. 3 bedrooms at the least, but preferably 4, 2 bathrooms minimum, open floor plan, and plenty of backyard space. There are times that I have to pinch myself to make sure the life I'm living is real. While I do get tired, and frustrated at times, looking at the big picture is a big realty check. I am marrying the man I fell in love with in high school (and knew from day one that I would spend the rest of my life with someday), we have a gorgeous daughter who is the light in our lives, we both have great jobs, and are on our way to being homeowners at 23 and 24 years of age! In addition to that, we are blessed to have many wonderful family members and friends living with us in the perfect city of Austin, TX. Doesn't get much better!
Averi's latest and greatest? Other than being perfect in every way, she has cut two top teeth, and has two more so close to popping through the gums! That is of course, in addition to her four bottom teeth that have been there since 4 months (already cut, that is)! She waves and claps constantly, says mama, and bye bye, and I could have sworn I heard her say dada tonight at dinner, but maybe I was hearing things ;-). Her way of being mobile is scooting, which is just fine with me! Ha, I get tired just watching my nephew crawl anywhere and everywhere, and he is one fast little guy! Averi's scooting takes a little longer than crawling so I have a little more time to finish what I'm doing and then get to her. She is now eating bits and pieces of what we eat, granted it isn't full of sugar or salt. Her eating habits are important to me, even at this young of an age. I do not want and will not allow her to get used to eating sweets and junk foods. I don't mind an occasional bite of something sweet, but it won't be often. The more I read about childhood obesity, and that the things we feed our babies (at this age) are big factors, the more I watch and make sure the things she is eating are beneficial to her. Moving on, she just loves to be outside! Whether it be taking a walk in the stroller, or swinging in the swings at the park, she is such an outdoorsy baby, just like her parents!
Well, I think I have covered enough for tonight! Gotta hit the sack so we can get up for church in the morning! Hope everyone has enjoyed their weekend! We went to the rodeo yesterday and had a blast while Grandma and Grandpa watched Ave. It was so much fun, we were like little kids again riding all the rides.
And, I leave you with some pictures!
Adorable cousins passed out after a walk around Stacy and JB's new neighborhood.
Our new jogging stroller! SUCH a wonderful purchase!
